Ally pally

Post by Obscured by clouds »

Is there any intention to have a meet up at the dinghy show at any point, or will the Holt stand be the default CVRDA 'clubhouse'?

I'm still hoping to be there on the Saturday - depending on various other things outside my control, and it would be nice to meet up if others are around.

We are going on the Saturday to be on the Grafham stand all afternoon....we might go back on the Sunday if we don't get fed up enough on the Saturday. Would be good to put more faces to names!

The 12.30 (?) talk each day by DH might be as good a time as any to meet up?

I'll be there Sunday, so will be at the talk at 13.45, then. Those who don't know what I look like, find the short, bald, greybearded scruffy bloke and, this being dinghy sailing, you have about a 1 in 250 chance of it being me...

please come and say Hi to me and the wife, we'll be sat by my GP on the Holt display, prob being ignored by the rest of the GP crowd on the main stand.

Plus feel free to put flyers etc on #7, but make sure you check that the varnish is dry ;)

Gareth

p.s. I'm meant to be there all weekend, but chances are I might go into London on saturday as I found reading a book for 2 days solid in a dark corridor to be close to mind numbing 2 years ago so we'll see how long I last this time!

Your right there! The main holt talk, I believe is one of the biggest things going on in the weekend, so it might be an idea to go and meet up at the holt stand afterwards? I am only going on Sunday (so probably less people!) but I think there might be a lot more people at the talk then the stand afterwards? So there is more a chance of knowing who is who?

There'll be a crowd of us there on Saturday which is usually the more serious adult sailors' day as Sunday is kids-go-free and many of the adults go sailing!
Look out for the cvrda T shirts!

Or just a budgeting parent who'd rather spend his money on sailing than kids tickets? ;-)

We're spending the weekend in London, so it was a toss up which day - Charlie would have got in free anyway, I think, as a junior RYA member.

Hi
I'll not be attending the show this year. Last year manned the Finn stand and the Saturday was Seonaidh's birthday. I have literally been paying for it ever since!!!! New car did n't work, and various other expensive things have had no effect. She has insisted that this year on her birthday which is Sunday. That I take her away for the weekend. London was banned, thus spending the weekend in a country hotel in the middle of Somerset. Have a good time.
