Tim and Pat (MR1066) were doing a wonderful job of selling their open later in the month when at Hunts.

More detail available soon.

I am competing in the Mells Scenic seven the next day (7 mile run) so dont think I want to travel the day before. I may change my mind yet though.

for some reason I thought this was somewhere in Oxfordshire. Once again it raises the issue of me not really having a suitable single hander. Hmmmm.

Hi Nessa,
The town of Banbury is indeed in North Oxfordshire, however, Banbury Sailing Club is about 10 miles further North over the border into Northamptonshire. Don't get confused with Banbury Cross sailing club which is close to Banbury town centre, but is more of a training centre than a racing club and is on a very small lake. Hope to see you there anyway!
Cheers

A big thankyou to Banbury Sailing Club for hosting such a memorable event and I don't just mean the "Oktoberfest" on Saturday night, great fun though it was. The sailing was pretty challenging due to what was possibly the least favourable wind direction blowing across the lake over the trees and clubhouse often creating "doldrums" at marks 6 and 7. The race team did an excellent job in difficult circumstances setting interesting courses and managing to get all three races in well before the Oompah Band arrived! Special thanks to Tim for meeting the "campers" and letting us in on Friday evening and of course all the helpers behind the bar and galley who kept us wonderfully well fed and watered throughout the weekend.

Cheers

Tim's report on the Banbury event is now live on the main website.

I've a couple of photos of the CVRDA Synchronised Swaying team from Saturday night's Bavarian Oompah event but if anyone has some images of the sailing I'd like to upload some.
