Hunts SC have just been voted best inland Nationals Club of the year for the CVRDA nationals.

Well deserved Vanessa, Nikki and the team at Hunts.

Excellent stuff. I take it this was from the slightly odd Y&Y/Sailjuice poll? Where did you see the results?

Yes it was from that strange poll and Nessa posted that they had won it on Hunts FB page. Apparently it was announced at the Datchet Flyer dinner.

How on earth did an event as small as the cvrda Nationals get enough votes to beat events held at the big lakes?

We must be doing something right!

I have never sailed at Grafham but the few times I have been to Rutland it has been a soulless place where the food served was good but no where near the food the the Hunts team served up. Lets face it they are commercial organisations where bottom line is king whereas Hunts is run by passionate enthusiasts as is Whitefriars, Shearwater, Clwedog and all those other lovely clubs we go to.

It is easy to forget how lucky we are. It is one of the reasons I like the Lightnings, too - small, friendly clubs to sail at.

Having been without my laptop over most of the holidays I have only just seen this. It was indeed a strange poll, but thanks to everyone who must have voted for us. It has given everyone a real boost here, it's nice to be recognised!
