Looks like we have a Europa moth joining us for this - anyone know a handicap for these or where I can find one?

Hi Keith,

I should ble to come up with an appropriate Europa Moth handicap, but first I need to know if you are planning to use the old 3 figure CVRDA type numbers or the current RYA system with a few additions for boats not covered?
I am planning to come over on Sunday morning with the Shelley Moth behind the motorhome if that's ok? I will bring all my old RYA handicap books which go back as far as 1973 so we can always convert old to new numbers using Jim Champ's formula.
We may bring a car as well so that Wendy can drive down to Tewkesbury with Baxter without moving the van. As Moths can't really be moored up effectively do you know if there is a grassy bank at Tewkesbury to put the boat on during the picnic stop?
If not I might have to put the trolley on the roof rack for Wendy to bring down after we launch from Severn.

Best Regards

Ian

Hi Ian,

Plan is to use the 1965/cvrda 2 and 3 digit numbers - thanks for your help with this!

Yes you are very welcome to arrive Sunday morning wi the motorhomes and car - there's plenty of space.

Plenty of bank and lawn to put a moth on at tewkes, small wooden jetty to lift it over first though, happy to give you a hand if you need it.

Cheers
Keith

Bit of info from Tewekesbury CSC and what is avalible there at lunchtime: "Food, bar! Rolls, hot drinks , cakes ,chocolate, crisp, bar, did I say bar?"

There's also the picnic option of course which you can either transport in your own boat or one of our safety boats.

With the Firefly still upside down, I'm afraid we won't be joining you this weekend. Sounds like it will be a great event.

Hi Tim

Thanks for the food info - I've given some rough numbers to those doing Sunday food based on how many have said they will arrive on sun so no probs.

Cheers

We can't make it now - the boat isn't ready and there's still too much else needs doing first. I'll send the handicap list with Chris & Lois. Have a good time.

With northerly winds forecast, the return leg might be a long old slog!

I'm planning on coming with my "lost class" Flipper Scow... for its first outing!

Yes does rather look like one way will be harder work than the other! The forecast does seem to have dropped a little today which I reckon is no bad thing.

I look forward to finding out what a flipper scow is!

What was the weather like for today?

roasting here.

Double stacker all packed and ready to roll.

Alan is picking me up at 5am, we hope to have picked up boats and be on our way by 6am.

Fingers crossed for a good trip up there. We should make the start.

We may need a few hands throwing everything together.
