Anyone planning going to Bosham?

Post by roger »

What it says on the tin really.

It may get me out of my lethargy and get a boat out of the shed.

Went last year and generally made a nuisance of ourselves on the Saturday in MR 950. This year we plan to launch N672 from Cobnor get in the way, dressed in cotton sails, without entering any races or showing any evidence of a competitive spirit before retiring to the bar.

Watching the Sharpies is fun, actually I find the whole thing good fun so long as I don't take it too seriously. Of course the memorable image from last year had something to do with a Hornet...

Forgot to mention that it clashes with the Goodwood Revival so B&Bs etc will be busy but the CBR guys say they can help.

Doubt Goodwood would have much effect on camping numbers though, erm...that didn't sound quite right...

I am debating which boat to take at the moment. Hugh(brother) is in so may take 353 which has a more up to date rig so swimming activities will quite likely happen or 610 which I took last year. Hugh is afraid of breaking Shoestring so she will be staying in the shed.
There may be a boat for lend Ed but would have to be collected and returned to Frome.

I have just entered for Bosham. Looks like it could be gusty.

I will take Torment as my first choice but if the weather cuts up rough, I may change to a Firefly.

Its a great event and I've had my pass stamped! :D

I`m afraid I have pulled out Michael, I have never floated this particular boat and don't think Bosham would be the right place for the old lady to sink or lose the mast.
I am going to have to find a puddle to play on first I think.
I agree its a great event but you do need a seaworthy boat and taking an untried boat is probably asking for trouble.
