Clywedog Rally 2020

Post by keithr »

Hi Everyone

I have discussed with our Commodore and we are holding off making a decision for now.

Due to restrictions we can only access one loo and no other facilities.

Hopefully this will change but it is doubtful if we will be able to do a catered event as we have in the past.

Also we currently cannot accept visitors or camping.

It would be good if you could let me know via this thread if any of you are planning to make the long trip to us if we decide to go ahead.

Best regards to all

Hi Keith,

I look forward to joining you if it is possible to hold the CVRDA rally. As with most of the regulars, pretty much self sufficient in the campervan, so easy to survive a weekend off grid.

Cheers

Hi Keith,
Wendy and I (plus Baxter ) have already booked a stopover at a campsite near Rhayader in the hope that we will be able to carry on to Clywedog for the CVRDA Rally. We will be in the motorhome as usual so as Lyndon has said we can be self sufficient if necessary due to the Covid restrictions if they are still in force to some degree.
Fingers crossed and hope to see you next month.
Best Regards
Ian

As we would usually be camping I'm afraid we wouldn't be able to make Clywedog this year.

Hi Keith,
I would hope to come. Small camper van, lumpy boat needing help in and out but that could be done with a long rope.
Best regards,

Sandy & I in the van as usual would come. It would be good to manage a suitable socially distanced event and an outside AGM - nothing unusual in that! Self catering wouldn't be difficult, we'd just need parking space for the vans.

Hi Keith,

I had been keeping the date in my diary but now I've changed my camper van for a floating camper (aka a motorboat) I'd have to default back to camping so am ruled out for this year.

Good luck though I hope that this can go ahead safely and that you all get some great sailing in.

We aren’t sure yet. I’m keen to come but we have no loo facilities in our little van. I guess if you go ahead we can always buy a portaloo and little loo tent!

We have had discussions at the club within the last week and have had to take the decision to cancel this years event as we feel there are too many risks at present.

We were living in hope but the recent spikes have made us realize we must all keep safe.

We will reserve same weekend for next year.

Best regards to all.

Sorry to hear that Keith, but totally understand and to be honest I was half expecting the decision to cancel in light of recent developments. As Chris has said let’s hope that things have improved markedly before next season so we can have a more normal sailing year than we have had in 2020. Stay safe in the meantime and look after those Peggies!

Best Regards
