Seems quite high as a starting price - might put people off - maybe you'd be better starting lower and having a reserve? But then, I'm not an ebay expert.

The two things which in my humble opinion really make a difference are:

lots of photos that really show the boats....warts and all.

really good description, with lots of detail about the condition.

I am encouraged when someone says:

Slight scratches on top....see photo No1
Bottom could do with a clean....see photo No2

This tends to encourage me that the 'thing' is what it is supposed to be and that the seller is basically honest.

Personally I am still unsure that ebay is really a good place to buy or sell dinghies....I have heard of as many sad endings as happy stories

Good luck!

cheers

Totally agree with Ed - there are real bargains around and it is a good way to move an unwanted boat on to a new home. I had an excellent experience buying my GP14 on Ebay. Was just as it said in the advert and I got a real bargain. Seller threw in lots of extras he had found later in his garage - the extras would have cost me as much as I paid for the boat!
Much better to move a boat on to an enthusiastic new owner than let it rot at the bottom of the garden.

Thanks for the comments. I have added a photo and it is the cheapest on ebay. I have another one to sell once this goes!

Well I notice that the bidding is now up to 41pounds with one day left. I think the seller might have gotten more interest if he had moved the boat away from the pile of dead leaves he scooped out of the bottom of the boat before he took the pictures.

My GP14 has now been sold on ebay, for more than the starting price but less than I had hoped.

I am afraid that is the way with ebay....sometimes they go for a lot...and sometimes not...

I have seen things go for an amount so large I simply could not believe it and I have seen things go for an amount so small that it seemed just unfair.

Its a great place to sell something that more than two people want badly....

and a bad place to negotiate a price with a single buyer.

cheers

This would be a great project for someone looking for a rare single hander. The Mark was an Irish design that was presumebly killed by the OK, though it is a little smaller.
