Re: Identification ?
Probably a Scorpion possibly built by Westerley Boats of Rock In Cornwall.
Simples.
Re: Identification ?
More likely a Graduate, me thinks, especially at 12'5", and that high foredeck.

Re: Identification ?
A bit short for a Scorpion and the rise on the transom looks too much. Possibly a Graduate? They too had deck stepped masts.

Re: Identification ?
It does look like a grad, except that the foredeck is curved, and aft is a tank, not a deck joined in to the sides. Are the deck layout rules fairly lax?

SigneT?
Re: Identification ?
Hi Rupert,
that sounds a bit Yoda!
I am just going of the measurements and a grainy photo. A possibility, Nothing stronger than that although the bottom does seem to flatten out according to the sections shown in Burrett. Any thoughts?

I seem to remember that they are.Rupert wrote:It does look like a grad, except that the foredeck is curved, and aft is a tank, not a deck joined in to the sides. Are the deck layout rules fairly lax?
But tell me guys, are you seriously suggesting that dimensions quoted on eBay should be used to identify a boat?

Re: Identification ?
Looking at the new Tupperware Grad' on Y&Y.com I tend towards Graduate Fleetwind was a bit too narrow gutted whoever built this cared about the boat a lot.
Simples.
Re: Identification ?
I used to race on the same stretch of water as SigneTs - very different to this boat. Fleetwind rather different, too.Nigel wrote:Hi Rupert,

Re: Identification ?
Definitely NOT a Fleetwind. I sailed these for about four years from 1964. Fleetwinds had parallel side decks all the way to the transom about 10" wide, with no stern tank; Much flatter on the chine. Graduates were our nemesis at the time. Slightly lower PY but we loved beating them!!! The Grad layout internally came in all different layouts.

Re: Identification ?
Hi
There is freedom to deck a Graduate. My brothers had flat decks as they were easy to fit by my father. However his friends had a very complex decking with a high foredeck, dished aftdeck and rolled side decks. I feel it's a Graduate but a very smart one.
