National 12 Vintage Starfish for sale

Post by Sticky Fingers »

After much deliberation and I now have for sale my fully restored beautiful Starfish. I bought this in August 2009, and have spent 8 months restoring back to a racing condition.During this process the following work has been done professionally

New foredecks and sidedecks
New Thwart and centreboard cappings.
Keel and bilge keels removed
All wood rot removed and new wood replaced.
Rear tank removed, and bags added.

I have also used quality fittings eg harken blocks.

I can provide all the photos at various stages of the restoration, and show the work done.

The controls on the this boat include a cascade kicker, cunningham, outhaul and mast ram, all dual controlled led aft to helm. In addition I have added shroud tensioners, so the rig can be adjusted to suit conditions. Finally it has a dangley pole fitted.

The boat comes complete ready to sail and in in immaculate condition. It has been little used in 2010, and therefore is not in the usual "end of season" condition typical possibly of some boats at this time of year.

New cover in 2010 still in excellent condition. (Cost £130)

Set of P&B sails in very good condition. (Worth £150)

Combi trailer also included which has had new bearings and new wheels replaced last month. (Worth £250)

This boat was the 2nd vintage boat in the summer event at Hykeham this year.

All this boats needs is a crew and some wind!

Sounds wonderful.

Go on show us a piccy!

Does the fact that have not mentioned a price, mean that its too expensive?

I'd love one to run alongside my Merlin. But, alas, I am unable to buy one this year

You have to significantly reduce the size of the picture to enable you to load it up.

But go on send me a piccy....So I can blub in my tea....

Quite obviously a great deal of work/effort went into this boat.

Were you not able to remove the old paint entirely from the inside of the cockpit when doing the rebuild?

I will forward the piccies to my mate and see what he thinks.

Cheers

Stephen

The old paint was removed, every last scrap!! Just decided to paint rather than varnish I have numerous photos showing that!

Cheers
