Looks like a very nice old cotton main.

the jib isn't from a Jollyboat though.

J80 is in the Classic boat museum on the Isle of Wight.
The sails on the boat are not cotton.

Well, I hope that the museum realises this main is for sale...

as it would be good for it to return to its rightful home

Good news - the museum is bidding for the mainsail.
With luck they will get it.
They are in new premises in East Cowes with more space and the museum and gallery are close to each other.
The museum has mast height though not enough for the Jollyboat.
It sounds very worth a visit.

I managed a very quick visit when early for a ferry in June - was still being set up by the look of it but some fantastic exhibits...I intend a much longer visit next time across there.

Did make me feel old having owned or sailed a large percentage of the classes on display - was happy to contribute and also to buy an old book....well worth a visit!

What a brilliant end to the cvrda year, identification of an historic main, and hopefully a rescue.
