Taylor Finn GBR373 on ebay

Post by Ed »

Just seen on ebay, this looks very familiar, but can't remember who it belongs to....but guess it is quite likely someone who occasionally stops in here.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Classic-Taylo ... 1260186949

Lying in Bourne End

Item No: 181566989215

Does look very pretty, but again I suspect not for me as after 3 attempts at Finn ownership, reckon I have to admit it most probably isn't the boat for me.....but still it is hard to not look at a Finn like this and not be tempted.

Hi Ed
I think you are thinking of ether Grahams or Dave's Taylor because of the colour. This finn was unkown to me until it came up on the BFA for sale site this week. Funny thing is I posted this on the Classic Finn site about an hour ago.
Cheers Al

Used to be at Starcross, has visited Roadford.
Wooden Taylor's have to be the very best classic Finn.

Now that you mention it Peter it's another Peter ( forgot second name but used to sail an INT14 out of Mayflower with his son), from Starcross's old boat. However it's to my knowledge never sailed at Roadford.

Wrong Alan! - Andy Bartram from Starcross sailed Finn 373 at both Clywedog and Roadford in 2007 coming 23rd and 8th respectively.

Both above replies are correct . Its my old boat that I sailed at Starcross . Andy Bartram , another Finn sailor at Starcross purchased her from me . He did as mentioned a few CVRDA events at Roadford . He upgraded the rig , new deck and other good works

The interesting thing about this boat is that she is the last timber boat to be raced at top level in the Finn squad . This was by the chap I purchased her from . When I bought her she came with 6 really good dacron sails that I sold off to metal masted old Finns which is why there are quite a lot of boats with this sail number !
