As the moderators of the forum, (well, Ed anyway) has temporaritly stayed over to "the Dark Side" that is Italian car restoration, its about time other tempttions were set before us.
Ed's heart I am glad to say is still in the right place as he continues to feed me details of clinker racing River rowing/ sculling boats, and we have secretly sent eachother protects currently on offer, such as a Salters double sculls, and a Stampfli Double / Coxless pair., and I have fed him details on vatious Banhams whiffs. Beauties all of them.
But coming back on track, here is a pair of true thouroughbred, with a fair bit of the pain already done.

The pics of this Pegasus shoe the understated beauty of the lines. A shallower. sharper entry and bilge, and a long flat run aft with rather less rocker than other fairy boats. I didn't realize how different the Pegasus was, quite unlike Uffa's other dinghies.
Then there is this clinker Kingfisher.
Worth the current price just for the bronze drum wheel to lift that plate, this is a chance to get a genuine "historical" boat with period features and suitable to cruise and race. A certain amount of technical stuff to do, but in good condition and not too much woodwork I reckon this one back in condition would turn a profit.

If we must have Italian Motors you could at least try to make it a Riva!

Hi Garry,
The Kingfisher had only a short time to go and looks like it sold for next to nothing
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/121902344346? ... EBIDX%3AIT
This is the link from my watch list. I wish I had been brave now, but marriage is a precious thing that needs nurture with lots of Oxytocic acts. While aquisition of this would undoubtably have been so for me, the effect would not have been mutual!
This is the original listing (with extra photos.)
