Wayfarer Mk 1 Woodie 8595 No Problem!

Post by SJFW »

A Sister ship to W 1759 who also sailed at Medway YC
See below for her credentials.
After 30 years with me she needs to move on.

Wayfarer 8595 No Problem!

This Mk1 Woodie has raced for me (her second pilot) for 29 years both summer and winter at Medway YC and Bough Beech SC and at many Open events all over the UK. The time has come now, Dec 2019, for her to look for a new ‘carer/owner’.
Built by Porters in 1988 she remains completely sound in her mast and rigging and in her buoyancy tanks and centreboard casing. She has a full set of racing sail controls led to both sides of the thwart and is fit to race to the extent that best woodies can compete with Hartley Mk 4s. Her future probably lies in a mixture of cruising and racing. Some varnished parts and her black topsides need cosmetic attention.
Also included are 2 side benches, in their original new varnished condition, never installed. For cruising, a 3kg folding anchor.
Rapide road trailer with 10” wheels (and spare), launching trolley, lighting board, travelling straps, spare parts, 3kg folding anchor, covers, and fittings to go with her.
Her sail wardrobe comprises 2 genoas, a storm jib, 3 mains and 2 spinnakers.
She is available to view here near Sevenoaks in NW Kent.
Price: The owner is willing to discuss any reasonable offer. See UKWA website for a
guide to second hand values.
