Holt HA4077 cleats

Post by PeterV »

I'd like to fit some matching cleats to Django to replace the hotch potch I've got at the moment. I've got 2 Holt HA4077 cleats in my spares box which look suitably period and work well but I need 6 more plus another 2 either the same or similar with a fair lead. Has anyone got some they're wiling to part with for a suitable consideration? Meanwhile I will keep an eye on eBay.

Is the one with the fairlead the one with the stainless plate and metal ring forwards, like a large version of the ones I was saking about a few weeks ago? HA4977 it is called.

If so, I have one of them you are welcome to. If you happen to have the small version, happy to swap, otherwise just postage if it comes to it.

Further to that - are 4077 the tiny ones?

If so, if I fit the MS out with different cleats, I will have 2 with fairleads available. What are the hole centres?

The 4077s are black nylon cam cleats on an oval stainless plate, hole centres are 1.5 " in old money, 40mm in new. They are quite small and ideal for control line cleats.

So I do have the cleat of that size with the fairlead out in front on the extended plate, if you want it.

I saw those on eBay. They are a bit more modern than mine as mine have a flat top but in that design I think they're still available, but at an astronomical price!

If you can part with the 2 you've got Rupert I'd gladly have them, let me know how much, you can pm me.

Just the one of the larger size - if it is the right vintage. Pictures of it below. If the right one, no charge - happy to see it going where needed.

I have one working 4077 and two without springs, I also have two similar of the same era (not matching) with fairleads, one I think matches the picture Rupert posted. Message me an address and I'll post them to you for free, I'm having a pre house move clear out otherwise they are bound for landfill.

Phil, you haven't by any chance got one (with or without fairlead) of the smaller type that looks like these, have you please? Photo on another cleats wanted thread!

I have a couple of the 4077 cleats without fairleads and a couple of the smaller ones.
