The AGM

Post by Rupert »

As regulars will know, a very short AGM will be held at the Nationals at Hunts SC over the bank holiday.

In order to keep it compact, not eat into drinking time, and stop you all getting bored by me waffling on, we need to know whether anyone has anything to bring up in the Any Other Business section. In the past, this has been the part which has kept me from my pint for the longest, so having people aware of any issues beforehand is very important!

So, anything?

Do you think we should discuss handicaps? It will stop you drinking too much?

Oh, god...

Handicaps should never be discussed without having drunk too much!

I have a proposal for the AGM.

Handicap proposals should be submitted in writing using a cvrda classic typewriter ie. built and designed before 1965 in triplicate using carbon paper(yes its still available) before any racing starts in the calender year the AGM is to take place.

Its OK Roger, we'll be sending Shoestring off the same handicap as the shower tray hornet on the Y&Y forum!

Dont think I have ever sailed an event without something breaking. Hence trying to get on with Demon which wont matter if bits break off.

You aren't alone... I'm bringing 3 rudders for the Minisail, due to my experience at previous events!

It is time to get the AGM agenda done so if there is a matter any one wish to be on the agenda now is the time to say and I'll write it in.
NB, This is the CVRDA agenda rather than any other club!

Assuming Roadford are still happy putting on the 2015 Nationals, I would like to put finding a venue for 2016 on the agenda, please.

Maybe we could ask Blithfield if they have anything on August Bank Holiday weekend - they deserve a good turnout and it's nice open water like Roadford.

I would personally prefer Blithfield as it is more central and also the venue is very similar to Roadford.
