The Junior group are selling their old 420 off cheap - is that where you are getting the mast from? You could get a boom from there, too, though I'm not sure it is the right vintage. Might not be long enough either, I guess. The boat also has a nice cover - I wonder how different it is to a 12?

Yes, that probably sounds like the one. I was talking to Paul(?) the tall N12/Phantom sailor and club 'dogs body' about a new mast and he suggested that I offered to strip it for the juniors. I have to follow it up as I do not know who wants what from it.

We were wandering around on Saturday measuring all the abandoned/spare masts hanging around. My mast is 6m and hog stepped, the gooseneck is at 1m and I think the spreaders are at 3.4m. So a 420 mast is adaptable, if a little long.

The sails on Spider are quite high aspect ratio, when compared to other N12 sails I have, i.e. younger ones.

Cheers,

Steve
