I'm intrigued...anyone know what it is?
Re: I'm intrigued...anyone know what it is?
It's my old Spearhead.
Some pics are still at http://www.pegasus18.com/dinghies/index ... 6/#more-12
Shame to see it in that state. It's a bit of a beast, all kevlar. You need the rotating rig, and it will cost a fortune to replace if all the fittings are stripped.

What a shame!
Horrible to see old boats from one's past being discarded like that.
If no-one is going to put it back to what it should be......poor thing should be put out of its misery.

Re: I'm intrigued...anyone know what it is?
I've had the misfortune to come across a few that I've sweated blood to get back on the water, only to see them raided for spares, left to fill with water or just abandoned. One of the problems of a "cheap" boat is that people think they are disposable after a couple of years.
Re: I'm intrigued...anyone know what it is?
Agreed.
Which is why I have often asked for a couple of hundred pounds for a renovation project, even though I really didn't want it, just as proof that there was some serious intention to rebuild rather than just strip and sell.
I have also had someone come around wanting to buy a cheap jollyboat and the deal I offered was simple.
They could have it for nothing, plus I would even gave some original Fairey veneer (admitedly a bit dry - but possibly usable). They could fix the hull and once they finished or at least showed they had invested time and effort into the project.......then, I would give them all the mast/sails/fittings etc.
This seemed like a good deal to me. If they never came back, at least I wouldn't loose all the 'bits' that could be used on another rebuild.
They declined my offer. Was I being unfair? I don't know....maybe, but my basement still has the Jollyboat bits in it.

A search of this forum will deliver a fair bit as I and others have posted various stuff about the Spearhead.

The seller has several other boats for sale as well. Looks like he haas some sort of deal with a local club or has been buying up boats to sell. localise your search to boat and peterborough. Some odd things in the background....
