Merlin design 20WCa

Post by slimtim »

Hello

I am interested to know a little more about the relative performance of this design - the boat is for sale on the MR owners website and is described as a type A built by Wyche and Coppock. The sale number is 1855.

Looks like a nice boat so keen to know more about the design.

1855 is listed in the Merlin Rocket yearbook as 20aWC which is code for Mike Nokes designed StarRocket built as you say by Wyche and Coppock. A sister ship called Cotopaxi won the Nationals in1965 in the hands of Alan Warren and Barry Dunning so quite fast in it's day, although most boats this pairing sailed were also pretty quick!

Slimtim.

I wrote about the design in the Merlin Rocket book.......bottom line, a good boat that would still be a quick boat inland.

Might even be a picture or two in there!
