Sail logo to identify

Post by Pat »

This logo turned up on a sail found in storage, but what is it?

The description of like a cottage loaf or some sort of hat rings a bell but I couldn't find it on the forum.

Cardinal? Is there such a thing?

Actually I took another look and thought "Showercap." The bit underneath is meant to be a £5 note (1/2 of...)

Not a Coronet - that has a three pronged crown logo.

Never seen anything like that. What's the sail like - dimensions etc - and does it have a sailmakers mark.

Cor that's annoying. Been searching sail insignia as the time allows for 3 days now; I got nuttin'. Even tried googling "sail logo yin yang" on account of the device underneath the loaf/crown/door knob; still nuttin'.
...well if it was easy everybody would have one.

We did measure it but I can't remember the sizes now. It's not huge or very small maybe about the size of a Topaz main. Normal luff arranagement with bolt rope. It is loose footed. Whatever it is it shows very little use .
The sailmaker's sign is a side view of a boat with a single sail in red
