I’ll be there, international canoe which is then for sale, usual Tiny camper van, girlfriend and plastic canoe canoe to play in. Would love to borrow peoples doublehanders to take Jenny sailing between races, she’s enjoying her beginners course this weekend.
Either arriving late Friday like 10.30 after a late shift or Saturday morning

Hi everyone, first of all Richard, I haven’t had anything checked my junk too, not to worry Keith will take your membership donation at Clywedog.

No-one has answered your question about sailing rules, the CVRDA do not have any, everyone can see everything if they are registered on the forum, you do not have to be a member. The membership donations help us to keep the website up and running. Sailing rules at events are set by the host club and are available at registration. Mostly fairly laid back, with info about sailing areas and safety etc.

Everyone else it looks like the senior Barlows (Amy will be there) will have to miss Clywedog this year owing to boats and house being packed up by then! So much to do so little time!!!

We will be thinking of you all.

Well well well, packing the house up has proceeded ahead of schedule so the Barlows are coming to Clywedog with Spriteful! We will be in Myfanwy (my van) and would like to take full part in all food on offer!

It will be our first sail of the year so we may be a little rusty and creaky too!

Probably arriving on Saturday and will have to leave on Monday afternoon. Happy days. :D :D

Not sure if we are going to make it yet - the kitchen unit is finally being made for the van right now and there's still quite a lot to do. It is likely to be Saturday arrival if we do come, but we need the van to be ready for our continental trip next week.

Hi Keith,

We are travelling across from Newquay tomorrow in the motorhome towing the Magnum 6 Moth and should arrive at Clywedog around lunchtime provided we can get in that early?
Looking forward to seeing everyone again, how’s the water level?

Cheers

Thank you Team Clywedog for such a great w/e! As always we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, even though we chickened out of some/most of the racing!

Thanks to the Clywedog team for a great weekend.

Roger (with the Mirror) asked me why our Ent had a K on the sail, I didn't know so did a bit of research, this may not be news to some of you, but apparently K was used to signify entrants from the UK in international events across all classes before the 3 letter Olympic standard was implemented (hence GBR now).

We thoroughly enjoyed the weekend, since then Annabel has completed her YSS Level 1, the part 2 section had to be postponed on Sunday due to the wind picking up too much. We hope she will be able to complete level 2 this Saturday. She was sailing a Topaz single handed over the weekend for the first time and loved it and our club are sorting out a topper for her. Watch this space....

I still have some video editing to do to capture the highlights which I will post in the not to distant future where hopefully you will be able to see yourselves sailing and not just my two's antics.

Until then, happy sailing.

Yes, my sail also had a K on it as it dates from 1982 which is before the 3 letter designators were introduced.
Well done to Annabel!

If you go back even further you'll see sails with UK on them with the letters merged so RH vertical of U is same as LH vertical of K. Thats why the UK became simply K. And in days of British Empire Canada, Rhodesia etc country codes all started with K eg KRH etc

Some will remember the outcry from protestants in N Ireland when GBR was introduced as of course NI is not part of GBR so they are stateless in international competition
