Nymph

Post by Nessa »

Not me, I cannot claim to be sylph-like. But I am tempted by the Blandford Nymph for sale for £50, my concern is that at 86kg I am far too heavy for it. Views?

Go for it. At 6’4” and 17 stone I’m way too big for the MX-Ray, still bought it though!

The Nymph would be a fun boat to own, but a suspect a slightly disappointing sailing experience.

It would fit in nicely for the weird slow boat challenge which has been discussed and never happened over the years (a Jo Richards Fusion or a Zephyr dinghy might be my boat of choice), but I cannot quite see where I'd sail it otherwise.

Ownership, varnish and a couple of outings a year seems extravagant, especially when I have several boats fitting that category already.
