Greetings.
We have discovered that the recent downtime as caused an additional problem with the forum - new users cannot register.
In order to solve this problem it will be necessary to take the forum down for a few hours and attack it with epoxy, a caulking iron and plenty of swearing.
I'm planning to do this on Thursday 5th August at 10:00, but please bear in mind that this is CVRDA time so the start time will be flexible.
Apologies in advance for the loss of service
Neil

Re: Forum downtime - advanced warning
Oh no!!
I've been waiting all year to see my birthday coming up in lights on the home page (or wherever it puts it) so please make sure you're all done by the week-end , or like the passing of an exceptional tide, I shall be high and dry until next year
This is my only, annual chance, of SWMBO knowingly letting me loose in a chandlery, (which this year could even coincide with a visit to Cowes week )
My boat may not be ready this year, but my Boots will be the Dog's B******s

Doesn't sound as if it would be very comfortable footwear to me, especially if still attached to the hound... Pwesonally I think I'll stick to the Ronstan boots...Michael Brigg wrote:My boat may not be ready this year, but my Boots will be the Dog's B******s
Re: Forum downtime - advanced warning
It should only be down for a couple of hours - I'll make sure it is working for Michael's birthday
Re: Forum downtime - advanced warning
Unfortunately I have been unable to find the time to sort the forum out, it's a myth that academics have the summer off . I had then hoped to sort it from home but due to a router problem was not able to, and trying to update the software via an iPhone is rather slow, won't try that again
I'll get it done early next week. Apologies to those trying to register, but at least Michael will get his moment of birthday glory

Re: Forum downtime - advanced warning
OK....the forum will be down tomorrow - Thursday 2nd September as I have a cure for the registration problem that I've yet to resolve. So if it's down after about 11:00 tomorrow morning you'll know why.
Re: Forum downtime - advanced warning
the forum is still undergoing some testing.....apologies but I need it live to see if it all works. It will probably be down again soon for a while
Re: Forum downtime - advanced warning
Looks like it's sorted - leaner, faster and more importantly new members can register.
