Hoorah. We have secured a restaurant for the prizegiving meal.

The 'Hole in the wall', a beefeater is in central bristol at the prince's street end of the docks, at the end of queens square.

I have arranged with the landlord a seperate area where we can eat.

Due to the possible large number, and to ensure everyone gets what they want I have arranged for the meals to be pre-ordered. So...

Within the next few days I will be posting the menu, could you then choose what you want, and email me your choice. With the posting I will indicate a book by date, which will be the day I phone the order through.

The tables are booked fo 7pm, this will then enable those who are driving home a reasonable finish time, and for those who are going out on the lash in Bristol good time to get REALLY plastered.

Lizzy and I have eaten here before and the food was good, and reasonably priced.

There are several hotels in easy reach ofthe Baltic wharf sailing club and the hole in the wall. The holiday inn express (temple gate site) is central and VERY easy to find (just follow temple meads railway station signs). The City inn is close by too. For guest house bookings and any other hotels, if you want to be close to the 'action' central Bristol will mean you are not far from where it all is. The closer to the docks you are, obviously the better things will be.

Baltic Wharf sailing club is beside the cottage inn, on Cumberland Road, which is just up the road from the SS Great Britain.

I will post directions to all relevant places nearer the time.

Please contact me for any more information. O yea - sorry to be tough but any highjacking of this thread will be deleted ('cos I can!);) and have !! on several occasions!!

Is it going to be easy and safe to park cars and boats (and over height camper vans) if we stay for the meal and then drive home?

Pat, I had you as a definate for the meal? anyway......

There is a very nice caravan site right next door to the Cottage Inn, where baltic wharf SC is. There is parking by the cottage inn too. The hole in the wall has several car parks about it, some will be fine for the camper. As for security, hey, it's just as safe as anywhere!

Hi All,

OK then.......I've got hold of the menu, I've scanned it and uploaded the sections to the website.

http://www.cvrda.org/events/fut_events/ ... r_2005.htm

For those of you who are going to come and sail or just gonna come to the meal and prizegiving could you please let me know your choices, by email.

- stu(at)cvrda(dot)org

I would really appreciate it if you could all order as soon as possible as I have to go back to the landlord by the 11th of November with numbers and orders.

Look forward to seeing you all soon !!:D

If you know of people who may want to come but do not have access to the web, could you please pass this info on.8)

If anyone wants a menu posted then drop me a line and I'll post one, you could download the pictures and print them, to save my postage:oops:

If you've any questions about the meal or hotels, just ask and I'll see what I can do.

Apologies to all. Unfortunately we are unable to sail or dine with you. This weekend is just too busy and difficult choices have had to be made.
