Hi all.
Was given a print of a dinghy racing painting by Frank Sherwin.
Thought I would share it and ask for info. I googled him and his work but couldn't find this image.
(Sorry about the low contrast and reflections from the glass)

Hi, that's quite similar.
There's a village in the foreground on the right hand side of the painting, does that match?
What about the boats? Are the N' boats national 12's? and the blue sail an Enterprise?
Thanks
DF

I suspect they are all N12s. I think I read an N on the blue sail and I should have thought the sail numbers were too low for the Enterprise era - 21 and 152 were pre war boats so at a guess the work is perhaps pre war or immediately post war.Itchen Ferry wrote: Are the N' boats national 12's? and the blue sail an Enterprise?

Re: Frank Sherwin Dinghy Racing Print
Just looked 152 up on the N12 Boat register - "Nina" - 1936 - Clinker, but the design is not listed, I wonder how accurate the painting is? Can anyone ID the design? Quite a few designs were out by 1936?
Thanks

No but 153 was Robin Steavenson's Witch. In his own book on the 12's there's a great typo in the list of winners and the boat got called Itch!
n21 was an Uffa King.
